About the Authur

I am currently employed in the Tampa Bay area as the Director of Employment and Employee Relations at All Children’s Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine.  am responsible for employment, recruitment and spiriting positive employee relations across the organization.  I am also responsible for human resource operations team, HR metrics and measuring human capital.  In 2011, we begin to plan and expand our commitment to diversity and inclusion.  A journey, in which I am excited to lead, follow, listen, learn and grow.

My previous experience includes 25 years in various roles working for SSM Health Care (SSMHC), a large Catholic health care system based in St. Louis, Missouri.  My previous roles include, HR Generalist, Consultant, Corporate HR Manager, Corporate HR Director, and Employee Relations Manager for the South Region at SSM Health Care-St. Louis. 

As an HR professional, I have had the privilege to work at the corporate, divisional, regional, and hospital levels of the organization.  During my tenure, I have provided leadership, consultation, and analytics in a host of areas including development of a system-wide HR measurement system which included providing information and graphics to our application for the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award (MBQA).  The MBQA is the highest award achievable in the United States for quality. SSM Health Care was the first health care organization to ever received the award in 2002.  I have also had the privilege to work on system-wide applications including writing applications for the AARP Award “Best Places to Work for People over 50.”  SSM received the award in 2004, 2005 and 2006 consecutively, and ranking number seven in the U.S. in 2004. 

My personal aspirations include being an advocate for inspiring and driving organizational change including elevating service standards to exceptional levels.  Our customers and patients deserve nothing less. 

I blog about various topics in human resources, health care, and the human component of every business related activity.  The purpose of my blog is simply to inspire readers to think, believe, and aspire higher levels.  I hope that I accomplish this feat.
